Summer hours are here!

What better way to start our summer schedule than to actually have a day that feels like summer. Starting this July 4th weekend our Pembroke and Plymouth offices will be closed on Saturdays and will remain closed until after Labor Day weekend. As a reminder we will still be open from 9am to 7pm in Pembroke on Wednesdays.

Also all 3 offices will be closed on Monday, July 4th to celebrate our nation’s Independence Day. Have a safe and happy holiday!

Sprinkler Systems – What you need to know

Perhaps your building has a sprinkler system and you never really gave it much thought. If your office is in a frame building you are  probably saving a good deal of money on your property insurance because of your sprinkler system. Obviously not so much in a steel building. But what do you know how they work? Do you know that your policy probably has a restrictive maintenance clause that says if you don’t properly maintain your sprinkler system and a fire ensues you may not have coverage?

These are enormous issues for any small business. I have included a PDF file provided by The Independent Insurance Agents of America that explains these issues in a consumer friendly easy to read format. Click here to see the article.

The above is meant as general information and as general policy descriptions to help you understand the different types of coverages available to you. Always consult your policy for actual coverages and exclusions.

What to do when a Tornado Warning is posted.

I never thought I would be posting tips on what to do when the National Weather Service posts a tornado warning, but yesterday changed my mind. I personally tend not to pay too much attention to weather alerts because we seem to always stay out of harms way. We have been very fortunate in the past but maybe this will serve as a wake-up call for everyone to heed the weather service warnings.

Here are their tips for protecting yourself if a tornado warning is posted…
